What to do, what to do...

Hey, there. Ms. Sadoff, here. I know that there is a lot of uncertainty right now, particularly for schools. That's why I'm taking advantage of what I have control over.
I've been watching webinars given by NAfME, Harvard's Education Now, Haymarket Books, and others. You can check them out here, here, and here, respectively.
I'm also very into podcasts! During lock down, I've learned about three in particular that have been educational and hopeful. First, The Score: An Urban Music Education Podcast by Eric Jimenez and Justin McLean. Second, Rite of String by Kevin Slunder and Matthew Moren. Finally, Decolonization in Action. I highly recommend listening to whichever one speaks to you, and I am always open for recommendations!
Books and I have an important relationship. I have read some great ideas and stories in our isolation, including We Want to do More Than Survive: Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom by Bettina L. Love, White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo, Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, and even Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut.
I would be remiss to forget the music making that I am so fortunate to be doing. Playing Bach's Cello Suites are just the beginning! Having another musician in my sister has allowed us to do collaborations like Beethoven's B-flat Clarinet trio and Prokofiev's Cello Sonata.
Looking forward to a time with a little more clarity and calm, but until then, happy to provide it for myself, and any folks that find this helpful.
